Features of Linwood

Linwood School is participating in the Learning Through the Arts program, created by the Royal Conservatory of Music to enhance learning through a process which incorporates visual and performing arts.

Swimming Program

Grade 3 students in all schools in our division receive a 6 week instruction program. Further information will be sent home at a later date.

Français

French is offered at Linwood School beginning at Grade One. At this introductory grade level, and at the other primary levels, grades 1 to 3, the main focus is to expose the children to the French language and culture in a relaxed and positive atmosphere.
Students in Grades Four and Five work through the newly revised Basic French curriculum. The approach at these grade levels is to provide a meaningful purpose for communication and to develop the language necessary for success in these areas by using a thematic approach.
Overall, the French experience will involve all four strands of a solid Language Arts program: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students are active learners while they sing, play, read, present, and work in French!
